Any visit to Omaha is incomplete without a visit to this nationally known, old-fashioned ice cream shop, located close to Creighton’s campus.  Featuring up to 12 new flavors every day, they do it the old fashioned way with rock salt and ice.  Stop by in the afternoon to see the old-school ice cream makers in action.  Flavors range from traditional Dutch chocolate and cookie dough, to artisanal flavors like Guinness and Peanut Butter and Jelly.  There's also an espresso bar, soda fountain with phosphates, egg creams, and malts -- and popcorn!

Jones Bros. Cupcakes has been featured three times on The Food Network’s Cupcake Wars.  Located in midtown Omaha, the bakery's cupcake menu includes Maple Bacon, Sweet & Salty, Yellow Chocolate,  Tiramisu, Root Beer Float!, Snickers, Wild Thing, the Elvis Special (chocolate, peanut butter, and banana) and, of course, Red Velvet.  Jones Bros. also has several other enticing desserts including cheesecakes and frozen yogurt, as well as a full café menu with salads, sandwiches, and 5-Star Mac and Cheese.

Yes, sushi in Omaha, NE!  The sushi craze has overtaken our city and Creighton students are the ones who benefit.  With so many of our students from Hawaii, it is imperative that our city offer high-quality seafood and sushi.  Blue has a great menu for the adventurous sushi connoisseur, as well as those that are new to sushi and not quite sure they want to go crazy with raw seafood.  There's straight-up sashimi, as well as specialties like Itchy Salmon with baked salmon, spicy crab, jalapeño, cilantro, and ponzu and the unexpected -- signature edamame hummus, anyone?
